Behind the Scenes of an Entrepreneur’s Success

The role of the entrepreneur entails a lot more than people see.
Most people are only aware of the business and the service the business provides.
There’s little thought that goes into the development of said business.
And even less about the journey of the individual who built the business.
That’s where the key to the enterprise’s success is hidden though.

The business is just a reflection of those who built it – the ones who are running it.
The positive results everyone sees is just a byproduct of the leader’s ability.
And, that leader has put in a lot of work behind the scenes.
One can tell stories about the journey, the struggles, the triumph, the worry, but the inner battle can never be revealed for what it truly was.
“This is a great idea!”
“I’m nervous!” “I’m excited!”
“This will definitely work.” “What am I doing?”
“Ugh, this is hard. I’m wasting my time.”
“Can’t stop now. I must finish this”
It truly is a roller-coaster ride, and only those that have been on it really know how much of an inner game entrepreneurship really is.
Sure, there’s financing issues, experience issues, licensing issues, strategic issues, but these are usually the simple things.
Deep in the mind of the entrepreneur – that’s where the big battles are fought and won.
The one’s no one sees.
The one’s no one gives credit for.
“To some extent, being an entrepreneur is a lonely journey.”
– Chad Hurley
After picking up a few ‘success’ or ‘business’ related books, one quickly realizes that they all point back to the individual’s mind.
Just look at the title of the world’s most widely recognized self-development book, “THINK and Grow Rich”.
It’s clear that the entrepreneurship journey is one of self-actualization, where self-awareness plays a critical role.
Entrepreneur’s are dictating where their life goes – the day, the week, the month, the year.
They’re setting their own schedule and working for themselves.
Most importantly though, they’re spending time working ON themselves – mentally, physically, and spiritually.
They know that in order to provide the best value to others, they need to constantly be working towards their own potential.
This is what’s required for the entrepreneur to sculpt the life that they desire.
A mental battle with inner resistance.
A confrontation with emotional barriers.
The constant practice of self-control and humility.
This is the path.
This is the way.
But, you know what?
It’s worth it.
And those that are going through it know it –
Even if it all leads to nothing…
There’s nothing else we would rather be doing.
Don’t let em’ convince you otherwise.
“Your level of success will rarely exceed your level of personal development because success is something you attract by the person you become.”
– Jim Rohn
