Hey, you. Yeah, you.

Remember that thing you wanted to do?

You know, that thing you promised yourself you’d do.

You shared it with someone else, too.

Told em’ you’d really like to do it.

But… you never did.

You put it off. Gave yourself an excuse, and told yourself “tomorrow.”

Then, tomorrow came and became yesterday.

Now, it feels like it’s been a million yesterdays…

TRAGIC, right?

Maybe, HOPELESS?

Well, those feelings are real.

We’ve learned to label them “Regret”.

It comes from your heart.

Yeah, you read that right.

Your heart is talking to you.

WEIRD, right?

It’s telling you that you’re not listening to it.

Telling you that you’re better than this. Capable of more. Worthy of more.

The more you listen, the more you feel anxious.

You begin to crave an escape; and, when you fight the urge, you find within yourself Anger.

Hatred fills your mind, and you’re tempted to lash out, find someone to blame.

But, you don’t.

You know better now.

So, you sit quietly and deal with it.

You hold yourself accountable.

You’ve learned – that the reason you’re feeling these emotions are because you didn’t execute on your desire.

You drowned out the voice of your heart.

How do I know this?

I know because I’ve been there. I’ve felt that.

Time and time again.

I hated myself. Felt unworthy. Thought I’d never amount to anything. Thought I’d never have the things I wanted. Thought I had to just… settle.

That word ‘settle’ …brings to mind another word, ‘conform’.

I despise that word, ‘conform’.

But, that’s what we do when we think we’re not good enough.

We conform.

We silence our heart, look around at what others are doing, and we conform.

See, the decisions we make today shape the future. The future of our lives, and of generations to come.

Our heart knows this.

When it speaks, it speaks with knowingness.

It wants the best for you, even if it doesn’t seem that way.

It believes in you.

But, what do we so often do?

We disobey. We start thinking WITHOUT the heart’s guidance, and we give in to the ego.

Like this, we get in our own way – like we did yesterday.

Look – don’t beat yourself up. We all deal with this. I deal with this.

Some days more, some days less.

But, that side of me does exist. That side that still thinks I’m unworthy. That side that thinks ‘I can’t’. That side that’s prideful, thinks it’s ‘too good’ to reason, to trust, to forgive. Thinks it’s naive to be optimistic, understanding.

Yeah – it comes out in my business, in my relationships, and even when I’m just sitting with myself.

But, you know what?

I’ve come to realize that accepting this side of me makes me WHOLE, makes me COMPLETE.

It’s my darkness.

The less I fight it and the more I accept it, the more I’m able to surrender myself to a greater aspect, to a greater Self. The Self that overcomes my darkness.

This is the Self that my heart likes to speaks to – and within your own self, it’s the Self that your heart speaks to.

When we learn to trust this Self and do the things we know to be right, good things happen.

Take it from me, someone who’s felt unworthy for the longest time.

The Universe/God/Source/Tao/Brahman/Allah/Nature/Great Architect – WHATEVER you want to call it – it OPENS DOORS you’d NEVER imagine. It comes to your aid. It shows you what YOU need to do.

If you just make that DECISION.

Cut off all other options.

And, MAKE THAT DECISION.
